Assessing the change of groundwater quality compared with land-use change and precipitation rate (Zrebar Lake's Basin)

Abstract Population, salinity, and increasing water consumption have caused high pressure on groundwater resources in Iran. The study reported here investigates the change of quality Zrebar lake basin relationship between it with land-use precipitation rate from 1992 to 2018. To achieve intended goal, chemical parameters wells around lake, bicarbonate (HCO 3− ), sulfate (SO 4 sodium absorption ratio (SAR), electrical conductivity (EC) were analyzed. Then, four methods including interpolation ArcGIS environment, Wilcox Schoeller Diagram Aq.QA software Ground Water Quality Index (GWQI) used indicate trend detect changes 2018, three Landsat satellite images covering area identify land uses their during period that shows a significant forests has been replaced by agricultural use, dominant cover while forest declined sharply. On other hand, farmlands human-made constructions increased 20% 200%, respectively. This additionally revealed although there decreasing lands increased, still suitable for drinking agriculture consumptions. Changes not justifiable because no them all parameters.
